University… College?

Call it what you want. It will not make the process of finding and applying for “the one” any easier. High school teachers build students up with homework, students try to make themselves “well-rounded” by doing extracurricular activities, parents and guidance councilors pressure them to find colleges, apply for scholarships and figure out what they want to do for the rest of their lives at the young age of 16, 17 and 18.

I may not be the first one to say this, but BACK OFF!

Students end up stretching themselves too thin and it causes more drama than necessary. Teachers start giving lower grads for poor  work or missing assignments, students quit   extracurricular activities (or they focus too much on them), parents get stressed with their kids not listening or by “spending all day in their rooms and not being with the family enough,” and guidance councilors seem to give up and in turn that makes the said student loose hope.

What kind of society has our world come to? To make the perfect student with no social or family life, or to make the social butterfly with poor grades and a torn family, or to make the perfect family with mediocre grades and  no social life? How are we, the students, supposed to balance everything? The truth of the matter is that we can’t. Things start to slip from our grip. We lose hold of reality. We lose hold of everything we worked so hard to get. Then we shut down. We stop caring about what we used to love, and we merely exist as another human being. We go through the motions of everyday life.

There is nothing to change this way of life. It is a vicious cycle that never stops until we give up. Until it defeats us.

Never thought I'd ever ever agree with a quote from Donald Trump

We cannot let it beat us. If it beats us then we are a disappointment to society, schools, families and friends. If it beats us then we are a disgrace to the human race.

We cannot let it beat us. We will prove this atrocious society wrong.

the greatest pleasure in life...

Prove society wrong. Prove yourself wrong. Be the closest thing to perfect.

Prove them wrong !

"When life seems hard, the courageous do not lie down and accept defeat; instead, they are all the more determined to struggle for a better future." —Queen Elizabeth II #quotes

Will we be perfect? No, but we will be damned if we didn’t at least try our best.
